Weaving solidarity for human resources for health and stronger health systems in the Pacific

Call for Project Ideas for 2026-2027 from June 18-July 31, 2026 

The Philippine–Pacific Health Initiative (PhilPac) is a networking platform linking the Philippines and Pacific island countries and areas to strengthen health workforce capacity, resilience and long-term sustainability. 

The Initiative responds to persistent shortages of doctors, nurses, midwives, dentists, specialists and public health professionals across island settings. While it focuses on human resources for health, PhilPac is firmly anchored in broader health systems strengthening. 

Initiated by the Philippines, it represents a new model of South–South and regional cooperation grounded in solidarity, mutual learning and sustainability.

The PhilPac Website is hosted by the PSPHP, lead convenor for local partners in the Philippines. 

PSPHP is a society that unites physicians and professionals to advance community and societal health. We provide expert guidance to local governments, agencies, health organizations, and medical programs. Through collaboration and professional development, we elevate the practice of public health physicians and allied professionals, ensuring credibility and quality. We also foster strong connections with clinical specialties to promote evidence-based, sustainable health solutions tailored to the Philippine context.
